New Mexico almost has its own style when it comes to color, building materials and house plans. This home in New Mexico has embraced more contemporary design elements than many of the traditional houses that make the state famous for architecture. The first striking element is the varied use of colors on the outside of the home itself. Often in more traditional New Mexico architecture only one color appears on the outside and that color usually is not far from the color of adobe. The contemporary theme is carried into the home interior as well. The floor, walls and furniture have a more updated look and the furniture is less colorful than many “Southwestern Style” fabric patterns.
