Nils Finne is a Seattle based architect who designed this Michigan cabin which sits on the Lake Superior. The lake property sits on a three acre plot of land no more than 30 feet from the lake. In the project, the design intention was to create a retreat where a family could escape for the weekend. There was additional intent to make the house “greener” by integrating the use of some bamboo and adding additional insulation to conserve energy. The back side of the cabin features a 40 foot long window to take in the view of Lake Superior. The end result was a wonderful modern cabin featuring a healthy amount of “wood looks” in the home interior along with stunning visual imagery surrounding the Michigan cabin.
