These days any product which has an “i” as a prefix has no trouble being relevant and the iPop Chair is no exception. One look at the quirkily designed chair and you know Kenneth Smythe wasn't clinging irrationally to design conventions and has rather intelligently meshed art with engineering. Part modern and part vintage the chair is a testament to Smythe's idiosyncratic vision and his love for science. The San Francisco based designer has always been heavily inspired by evolutionary models of nature and his penchant for translating complex theories into pieces of art is no secret. The iPop chair has been manufactured in finn birch laminate, formica colorcore, leather, steel, and maple and was auctioned off by Wright for a cool $9,000.
