Tableware seldom is whimsical, as designers are hesitant to break the traditional design conventions. But the Alice collection doesn't suffer from the same fate and full credit goes to Israeli designer Rachel Boxnboim. What makes this collection truly unique is the two layered design process and the fact that it involves fabric molds and porcelain. The imaginative collection engages its user from the beginning, as to obtain the final piece of porcelain, one has to fire in the kiln and slowly burn the fabric away. The end product is a beautifully designed porcelain piece with traces of seams and light textures.
