The Volume.MGX Table Lamp evokes an instant sense of surrealism and provides a multi-sensory experience with its stunning play of light and shadow. Conceptualized by Simon Spagnoletti, the cube shaped lamp strives for the highest echelon of design by embracing cutting-edge techniques like 3D printing and “squared square geometry” application. The lMGX like a phoenix rises from a completely flattened position to light up any dynamic space. I think this design is far beyond a lighting fixture and is more of an arty piece not providing light necessarily, rather using the illumination to its artistic benefit. I can see a version of this as a hanging pendant for a kitchen or less formal dining area.
