Chairs, they are in every living and working space we encounter and have been since the existence of furniture. More recently MisoSoupDesign directed by Daisuke Nagatomo and Minnie Jan have sought the limits of “innovation and technology and how the maximize or minimize structure and connections”. Their collection of furniture especially the rocking, stacking, and folding modern chairs has made a lasting impression on the furniture establishment and opened eyes to greater possibilities. Shown here is the the bent wood stacking “Kulms Chair” that is a Frame Magazine Design of the Week, and the slatted “C2C” that transforms from guest chair to a laid back lounger.
