With an arctic freeze sweeping the majority of the nation this weekend, it's clear that three items are of the utmost importance in the next 48 hours — hot chocolate, good books (or movies) and blankets upon blankets. Krakow designer Aga Brzostek seems to prefer a more built-in approach to keeping warm in the winter, though; her inventive blanket chair combines the best of furniture and accessories in a self-contained all-in-one easy chair. The cozy cocoon is about as inviting as a home furnishing can get — at least, when the temperatures outside are as dangerously low as they are at the moment. Made of wool, the blanket-inspired slipcover atop the “Autumn/Winter” chair, as it's called, hearkens back to Brzostek's roots in the fashion industry, where most of her designs reside. Makes sense that knowing how to drape the human form can translate perfectly into a piece like this. The most clever part (aside from the concept itself, of course): the fact that there's a small pocket on the side of the foam-based chair, so when you inevitably start to nod off into dreamland after snuggling up for an hour or two, that book, magazine or tablet has a soft place to land.
