Pictured here is likely the coolest and most contemporary building lobby furniture design I have seen. This piece is called “Topolounge” and was created by Howeler-Yoon architecture firm. Though it is hard to tell from the limited information provided on the site, it appears that the mold has been created for chrome steel furniture. I think this can be pulled off since a person would likely not sit long in the lobby, thereby removing the need for the long-term comfort of the sitter. Inspiration is derived from the various positions a person could appear in from sitting to reclining. The forms, contours, and shapes of Topolounge create the mystique where the patron could be in all of these positions. The plans are for this cool furniture design to adorn a residential building lobby in Boston, Massachusetts.
